In one’s lifetime there comes a time when you meet someone who gives meaning to your life, who makes you realize your importance in the world and the fact that you just have to clean the shit off your asses and enjoy the beauty of life.  The Fundamentals of Caring is that one movie which would inspire you to value the little things in your life – like “Peeing Standing Up”.

This movie is about a man, Paul Rudd, who is suffering from incredible amount of losses enrolls himself in a class of care-giving. His perspective towards life changes when he is entitled to take care of a teen, Craig Roberts, suffering from Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD).

The movie takes you to an emotional ride when they take a road trip to see the Deepest pit in the world and the stories that unfold during the movie. The movie has one simple message, i.e., to enjoy and value your life at its fullest. It does not matter if you are handicapped or disabled in any form; it all depends upon your heart and mind whether you want to enjoy all the beauty and simplicity of your life or you want to spend your life just by sitting in your living room and watching everything, that is right out there in open, on your television.

During the course of their ride they meet Dot, Selena Gomez, who also joins them in their week-long excursion and we start seeing some cute sparks between Trevor and Dot. There are moments in the film which would make you laugh and cry at the same time. The actors have portrayed their characters so beautifully that you will feel connected with them and as the movie ends you will be emotionally attached to them.

I will not open much of the film for you but would tell you that this movie is full with sensible humor which would make you laugh and keep you attached with the film throughout its run-time and it also has heart-breaking moments that would make you feel the pain.

This flick also tells you that the duration of relationships does not matter; rather there are some people in your life who are there with you just for a limited period of time but those people leave the most deepest and beautiful imprints on your heart and in your lives that they change your perspective towards life and cleaning the “shit” of your life becomes easier.

This movie is overall “Handsome and Cool”; so go on to this emotional road-trip and cherish each and every moment of it.

“Women belong inside the house, where they work to serve the other members of the family.” This has been the prevalent notion about the status of women in the society, especially in the rural areas. But the scenario is now changing rapidly, with many women stepping out of their houses and working to earn and support their families. This documentary shows an example of how such women are breaking the walls of impediment and are working outside the four walls for their families and themselves.

5 Weirdest Things Stolen From Hotel Rooms

article, blog, discussion topics, freshly pressed, fun, humor, live, people, points, pounts, ranking, real-life, think, Uncategorized, viewpoints, weird, writing

Sometimes you are bored from Instagram, Facebook, WhatsApp, Twitter or any social networking site/app you can think of and you decide to search for random things on internet, literally random. I did the same and decided to search for craziest of things that were ever stolen from hotels on google (even googled searched with a ā€œlameā€ face) and after getting the results; I was shocked that people from around the globe stole weirdest of things possible (not only Indians). So, Iā€™ll be sharing some of the craziest and funniest things stolen from hotels: –

  1. When You don’t wanna spend money onĀ renovationĀ of your bathroom.

2

Berlin hotel guest stole stylish monsoon shower heads, hydro massage shower units, taps, toilet seats and even the sink.

2. A Pig for decoration. like seriously?

2

A guest tried to abscond from the Hotel du Vin in Birmingham, UK, with the stuffed boarā€™s head. Other items to have been relieved from British hotels include a medieval sword, door hinges and a 1.2m-high wooden bear.

3. A Fridge For Cooling Your Beer

3

A guest stole a minibar fridge, literally. Well lots of people would empty the stuff inside it, but one guest at a ā€œfive-starā€ hotel in Dubai took it to another level by leaving behind the bottles and took the unit itself, and guess what he took the Sofa also; along with him. (Now, he can enjoy a good cricket match.)

Ā 4. Winters Are Coming

4

So, you are staying at a hotel and like the Marble Fireplace there and would match with your houseā€™s settings? Take it. A guest at Four seasons Beverly Hills was alleged to have lifted one. (Perhaps not literally, but who knows?)

Ā 5. Someone Living

4

A guest was so fascinated by the Hotelierā€™s pet dog, she decided to steal it and she did.

So all those who only steal coffee and sugar pouches; sometimes toothpicks, from hotels, you need to get inspired by them and go for something big.

Remembering the 90s

anecdote, anecdotes, article, connection, diaries, discussion topics, emotional, experiences, feelings, friends, friendships, life, live, love, real-life, short reads, story, television, think, thoughtful, travel, writing

Today, when I look around kids these days, all dwelled into technology and stuff, I feel sad sometimes that they will never know how it was like to grow up in the 90s. Of course kids (ages 3-13) of this era are more technologically advanced and they know how to use an iPad Ā when all we would do was to collect Pokemon cards, Beyblades and had no idea what a mobile phone was till the end 90s. Yes, today’s generation is more smart and technologically advanced but in my opinion no time period was better to grow than the 90s. Accept the fact that we enjoyed it all; from the “old school” stuff to the time when everything just got too modern and advanced (We used the first version of windows, lol). If you are still not sure what I am talking about, here are some reasons which would take you back in your 90s.

  • Imagination ruled our childhoodĀ

In today’s world, Internet and smartphones are the “most used” sources of entertainment and fun but back in our time when we were growing up we only had our imagination and toys as the only source of fun. We would sit around with our friends and siblings on a cold winter night and build castles using bed sheets, sofas and chairs; role play all night long. We would spend our nights camping out in forests with our friends and whatnot. Technology didnā€™t control our lives while growing up in the ’90s and in a way it was a blessing, because we got to explore thingsĀ ourselves.

  • Best Tv Shows

To be true, television today is amazing with all the shows like Game Of thrones, Californication, TBBT etc. but the shows we watched in our childhood were just amazing and way original than the shows we watch today. Who remembers Pokemon, Power Rangers, Oswald, Noddy, Bob the Builder, Wizards of Waverly Place, That’s so Raven, The Suite Life of Zack and Cody, Powerpuff, Dexter, Popeye etc..; this list is never-ending and even Tom and Jerry of our times was much better than today’s high-definition ones; it was original and funnier. True, it was just cable TV but it was epic and the best part we used to enjoy it together with our friends under one roof fighting for the popcorn.

  • Letter Writing

Today with all the free texting and stuff we have forgotten about writing short/long letters or passing notes in the class. There is no more folding of notes and trying to pass it behind the teacher’s back, no nervousness or excitement. Just “Whatsapping” or “Facebooking”. Remember the time, when you would write a short proposal letter to your crush and it would reach to him/her through your mutual friend and you had to wait for the next day for the reply. Oh! that was amazing. Yes, its good now that we have the “last seen online” technology so the span of “excitement” has reduced but back then waiting a whole day was more exciting than to just wait for a few seconds or minutes for the last seen.

  • In PersonĀ Communication

Who remembers face-to-face contact anymore? Back then if you wanted to get a hold of someone without using your home phone, you would probably have to go all the way to their house. Meeting up with people was only possible if you had a human pick up train, one person picks up another at their house, those two go pick up another person and so on and so forth. It was laborious, but there was never a miscommunication!
After school, we would meet up at one of our friend’s house, finish our homework by discussing it with each other and not copyingĀ Ā it from the internet and then we would grab hold of our bicycles and make a train ofĀ them and stop at different junctions (other people’s houses). We would play games like Hide and seek, Ice Water, Dark Room etc and it was an amazing time pass and helped us to spend time with our friends and getting to know them. Those memories and friends are still everlasting.

  • Those Childhood walks

Remember the times when in the cold or hot evenings we would walk down the streets with our ‘best-friend’ talking endlessly. We would spend hours with each other just talking to each other about anything. In those time we didn’t have any cell phones so no one could disturb us and we would spend the whole evening talking, eating and sometimes observing the sun set in silence.
The memories that were created at that time will stay with us forever.

Growing up in the ’90s was amazing, games were fun, communication was in person, television was at its peak, but of course I may be biased but come on we all know it was amazing.
Now it is your turn to tell me,what were your favorite things about growing up during the timeĀ period that you did? So post a comment below and relive your memories.

Anecdote. #Internship

anecdote, anecdotes, article, diaries, discussion topics, emotional, experiences, internship, life, real-life, short reads, writing

You have completed your first year in college and summer holidays have started; you are all prepared to do something productive and interesting in the coming two months and the best way for you to do that is to go for an – “Internship”! But suddenly a serious thought pops into your mind that where would you go for an internship? What work do you want to do? How that will be beneficial for you in the future?

This is what happened to me, and it was one hell of a ride for me.

So letā€™s go through my this year’s internship story.

It was all dispiriting for me at the start, being a media student I wanted to work in Electronic Media, i.e., a news channel; but it was as tough as bending old leather boots for me. At first I was rejected by all the news channels, some didn’t took me in because i had just finished my first year, some shunned me off in the interview rounds, and some even hung up on me on the phone before even I could say “thank you for your time” to them. But after some disheartening attempts to get the internship, I gave my last shot at Zee News and applied for a one month internship program via mail and after being rejected by all others I had very pygmy of hope that I would get in here; but to my surprise after a day they mailed me back and told me to report after a week for the interview.

And here I was in Zee Media, all nervous and excited with some hope of finally getting to work, finally getting to new people, writing a new and exciting chapter of my life. While running my ‘imagination horses’, I got called in for the interview and during my way in various questions startedĀ  impending in my mind like, “How would my first interview go?”, “How would I answer their questions?”, “Should I talk in Hindi or English?”, “What if I get frightened and spoke nothing?”; and when all these thoughts were coming into my mind, here I was sitting on the Hot Chair (I know it’s a bit over exaggerated but it this is actually how I was feeling that moment.) waiting for them to fire their questions at me. During the interview it was confusing for me as I had no idea whether they were impressed or all disgruntled by me, but I maintained my calm and answered them the way I thought was appropriate (and yes I answered in Hindi). Few days later, I received the mail reading “Puru Agarwal we are pleased to tell you that you have been selected to work with the Zee Family” and you couldn’t just explain the feeling you have that time, that feeling is just “Enigmatic”!

And this is how my journey of internship started. I packed my bag, booked the tickets, searched for a Paying Guest House and here I was in Noida for my new adventure.

On 22nd June, 2015, standing in front of the company gate, all dressed up in formals, i stepped into the company with my aim to work hard, getting to know new people, glamorous and open environment (like, seriously), fellow interns, free coffee; I knew the very same moment that it was going to be one memorable ride. First day I befriended a girl (joined the same day) and we both were introduced to our head and other staff member by another intern who had been working here from last twenty days. Within a week, I made new friends, learned how to “actually” work, how to get your work done and with all the support I was able to get hold of the work being done there in a week time. There was also this girl (an intern too) I had developed a crush on and tried very hard to talk to her but couldn’t because she was working in another department.Ā Ā  Within the second week I was able to break the ice with her and it sparked a friendship between us, we even developed soft corner for each other and some romantic connection was established between us but it couldn’t go further as she didn’t have enough time as her internship was completing soon and she had to go back to her home town. But I was not upset, as I got a new friend who will be always be there for me.

ā€œThere is scarcely any passion without struggle.ā€

– Albert Cames

If I had to summarize what I learned and experienced during that period, I would say that throughout the whole internship I have made new friends (some who would now stay forever in my life), I have learned how to talk to people, what is the importance of work in your life, I have learned that these little experiences develop your personality, it helps you to understand the world, be more open and practical in life, you learn how to handle money, how to handle the criticism and appreciation from your bosses and how to share a ‘room’ with three other people who are “ten” years older than you.

How Would You Rank The Harry Potter Series?

article, connection, discussion topics, emotional, fantasy, feelings, fun, harry potter, life, live, long read, long reads, longreads, love, movie, movies, poll, ranking, real-life, realtionships, story, think, thoughtful, viewpoints

Its been over four years since the last Harry Potter movie was released, but even though the attention of media has been diminished towards all things related with Harry Potter, the enthusiasm and love for Harry Potter is still going strong for its faithful fans (Including me). And after all this these year, it is finally time for me to rank the movies from the good ones to the most amazing ones.
This has been a very difficult task for me and will incur the wrath of some virtuouslyĀ ardent zealots; but it will be a fun way to go back to the glory of the magical world and living our times when we were growing up as Children watching these movies (and of course you all are free to give it your own rankings, do mention them in the comments.). And yes the rankings are based on the films and not the books.

Lets start from the ‘not as good as the others one’ :

8. Harry Potter And The Goblet Of Fire (2005)

This is a game of life and death.

Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  This is a game of life and death.

This is the movie when all the shit gets “real”. The first three-quarters of the film are concerned with TriwizardĀ Tournament and in this movie Rowling attempts to showcase the audience the witches and wizards of other parts of the world. It was more of a romantic and out-of-the-context movie for me (of course, excluding the last 30 minutes). It also sparks a romantic connection between Ron and Hermione (which is good) but the other aspects were quite irrelevant. It is like you are watching some completely different movie until the last moment when the Portkey takes Harry and Cedric to Godric’s Hollow. But it for sure picks up when we enter to the graveyard and the shit gets real when Wormtail sacrifices his thumb for his master and Cedric dies and the visit of Harry’s dead parents. This Harry Potter flick then becomes realistic and cane scary. This also marks the actual comeback of Voldemort but overall it is the least ‘Harry Potter’ of all. It is like you can skip this part and you will miss nothing.

7. Harry Potter And The Chamber Of Secrets (2002)

There are other ways to go to Hogwarts, my friend!

Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  There are other ways to go to Hogwarts, my friend!

Think about it, a large monster terrorizes people on campus forcing them one by one into weird mental state while our protagonists hastily try to figure out who is controlling the attacks. Thatā€™s a classic mystery set-up, which picks up the pace during the frightening climactic battle between the Basilisk and Harry, but the whole movie could have benefited from a few more scares (although people who are afraid of large spiders may care to disagree, like Ron). This movie is also one of the poorly directed movies of all the Harry Potter movies because it maintained the same tone and plot line just like the first part but in a different way. There were positives also in the movie, like the scene at the end in the Chamber (amazingly directed and gave the thrills), increasing bond and love between Ron, Hermione and Harry; Potter got aware of his few of many abilities which he acquired from ‘Voldemort’ and used his skills to a great extent, like talking to Snakes. Overall, this movie could have been much better if more thrills and scares were included.

6. Harry Potter And TheĀ Philosopher’sĀ Stone (2001)

Fear of a name increases fear of the thing itself!

Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā Fear of a name increases fear of the thing itself!

This is one movie I loved watching while growing up, In winters I would be all cozied up in my blanket, drinking a cup hot “Chocolate-milk” and enjoying the thrill and chills given by this movie. I would act like a wizard (Harry, to be precise.) in front of my parents, I would build castles with bed-sheets and enact the roles with my friends. Oh! This movie shaped my childhood in many fronts but now when I look back after all these years it reminds me thatĀ how much better Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, and Emma Watson got as actors doesn’t bode particularly well for this movie.
For example, on the Hogwarts Express, the nervousness of the actors is perfect because they are playing kids who are meeting each other for the first time. That scenario would make anyone nervous, and itā€™s particularly difficult when you are traveling on a magical train after you have just recently been told that you are a rich and famous celebrity that vanquished the Dark Lord when you were only a baby.
Yes, this movies creates a visual in our mind, it introduces us to the magical world of Harry Potter. But then this movie was just meant for “fun” for kids and not some thrill ride. And even the creators didn’t knew that time that this series will turn out to be a huge success, or it could be more than “fun” for kids and can be enjoyed by people of any age.

5. Harry Potter And The Half-Blood Prince (2009)

And Harry thought inexplicably of Ginny, her blazing look, and the feel of her lips on his.

Ā  Ā  And Harry thought inexplicably of Ginny, her blazing look, and the feel of her lips on his.

Yes I remember J. K. Rowling saying its her favourite but for me I consider it putting it on the “Fifth Slot”. Yes, most of the scenes in this movie are breath-taking and emotional, it is the most comical of all the series and humor is on the top-notch here. It for sure build many relations, plots, reveals lots of secrets but it felt like it ended in quite a disruptive way (like, it wasn’t meant to end like this but the movie was getting longer in duration so they ended it in the middle). The movie also did not show the battle of Death Eaters in Hogwarts and the funeral of Dumbledore (how could they edit it from the movie, seriously?) like in the books.
The scene when Ron, Hermione and Harry decide to find the Horcruxes is amazingly filmed and portrayed. This film also mark the start of a romance of between Ron and Hermione on exclusive terms; it also flagships the love between Ginny and Harry.Ā While the book teases out the romance between Harry and Ginny, in the movie it feels rushed and forced. Their supposedly climactic kiss in the Room of Requirement doesnā€™t hold as much weight as it does in the book when they get together in Gryffindorā€™s common room in front of Ron and he graciously accepts their relationship.
And at the end it takes a dark turn and is quite fun to watch but it surely is not as fun as the ones on the top list.

4. Harry Potter And The Order Of Phoenix (2007)

You told her he Who Must Not Be Named is Back?

Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  You told her he Who Must Not Be Named is Back?

Now as we move on the top of the list one can say that this flick of the eight movie series is rightly placed. It is a complete package; action, romance, darkness, magic, death and everything one can expect from a Harry Potter Film. The reason I have placed this movie here is that it has skipped numerous stories from the book which makes it the shortest film of the series whereas the book is the longest of all.
After watching this movie, for some time (before the last 20 minutes of the movie) I started considering Dolores Umbridge as the scariest villain but Voldemort wins this battle at the end and maintain his scare by fighting with Dumbledore in the Atrium of Ministry of Magic and by controlling the mind of Harry for some time. (Oh, this scene beat the shit out of me each time I watch it.) and it also marks the entry of Bellatrix Lestrange.
The movie is extremely dark and brutal and makes us realize the real potential of Tom (Voldemort). The best part of the movie is that from this installment it is not for kids anymore and specially for the ones who are lighthearted.

3. Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows Part – II (2011)

"After All This Time?" "Always!"

Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  “After All This Time?”
Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā “Always!”

You were eight when you started your Journey with Harry Potter and now you are eighteen and are sitting in the cinemas with the feeling that this is the last Harry Potter movie you are watching, this is the movie where it all ends; you know that you will cry after the movie finishes, you know how it will end but still you go in the cinemas hoping that Voldemort does not kill Harry, hoping that all your favourite characters live happily ever after and just hope that Rowling and the Directors leave just a small hint that they will be back, and you will again live your childhood.
As I’m writing about this movie, I still feel the gulp, the nostalgia that has hit me again, I remember me coming out of the cinemas with tears rolling out of my eyes and the fact that I didn’t spoke for next 1 hour after the movie was finished; that how much heart-broken I was. You have grown with Harry, Ron and Hermione and it is painful to get hold of the fact that your childhood has come full circle with the end of this movie.
This movie serves you right, the only thing that disappoints me about this movie is that; though the battle was a big-budgeted grandiosity and fun to watch it is still not what you were expecting from the last part (leaving out few moments and scenes in the movie). How Voldemort was killed disappointed me the most, it would have been really thrilling and fun to watch if the final battle (at the end of the movie) between and Harry and Voldemort was more intense, dark, struggling and moreover I wanted Harry to kill Voldemort in front of everyone; it would have been “stupefying” that way.
The last scene is amazing and really heart touching when you see them at the Nine and Three Quarters station for the one last time.

2. Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows Part – I (2010)

The Ministry has Fallen. Scrimgeour is dead. They are coming.

Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  The Ministry has Fallen. Scrimgeour is dead. They are coming.

Well some of you might think that why did I place this movie on the second spot when the movie offered nothing much of thrill or excitement? Why did I consider it for the second spot when all it showcased was a slow paced journey, fight between three eternal friends (Ron being aways from Harry and Hermione) and moreover when it is considered the worst of all the Harry Potter movies by critics? (But seriously, since when did we start reading critics for Harry Potter?)
To be honest, this is my second favourite movie mostly because it has Dobby in it, because throughout the series he has not received the limelight (and we all hated him for his annoying nature in Chamber Of Secrets). But in this installment he turns out to be a hero, he helps Harry and his friends in all possible ways, Harry frees him from his slavery, and Dobby plays a crucial role in helping Harry when he needs it the most. It was quite heart breaking to see that bitch (Lestrange) killing Dobby but at the same time it was very pleasant to watch Harry burying the deceased by his own hands (which makes you respect all of them even more.)
Most of the scenes were better filmed than all the previous installments and moreover most of them were better than the book (like the forest one, horcrux one, the wedding one at the start, Dobby etc.). They also kept it real by showing the sparks of jealousy in Ron for Hermione and he couldn’t even stand Harry getting close to her (you can say it was the effect of the horcrux on Ron); but this is what happens in real life too (Don’t you think?).
And the dance between Harry and Hermione was a delight to watch and Ron listening to the radio continuously gave you a reality check.
You feel like you are into the world of Harry Potter for the very first time.

1. Harry Potter and The Prisoner Of Azkaban (2004)

I don't go looking for trouble. Trouble usually finds me.

Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā I don’t go looking for trouble. Trouble usually finds me.

No other movie of this series could take the top spot for me. The Prisoner of Azkaban, with all its twist and turns, is a complete delight to watch. No matter how many times you watch it, you feel like you are watching it for the first time and always end up discovering something new about it. In the previous two instalments they were kids but now the trio is growing up and are faced with some life realities of Hogwarts. The movie also saw a change in the actor who played the character of Albus Dumbledore.
You could feel the magic in this flick everytime you watch and it had some real touch of magic, it mostly revolved around time and how time has impact on the life of these little wizards. For the first time we saw time travel (and in some unique way) in this series and it played a very important role in the further instalments. Also this is the only movie in which Voldemort has not been featured but its good as the other facts of the series were revealed who play very crucial roles later on in the series.
In this part, Harry finally comes to term with his dead parents, he gets to know the true reality of Sirius Black and then the journey to get him out of the prison; a new world of Werewolves and Dementors are introduced into the small little universe of Harry Potter. We as kids (back in 2004) get really serious about this franchise for the first time and start wondering who are the real enemies, friends and what is going to happen in the future?
It started everything, this movie was like the base foundation of all the coming Harry Potter movies.

Happiness can be found, even in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light.
Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā ~Albus DumbledoreĀ

Here’s a tribute to our favourite series on the song “See You Again” (video originally uploaded by theredsoxfan18). Please do watch it because I know you would be in tears after watching this video. And now if you are planning to go on the Harry Potter marathon who’s stopping you to take a day off to live your childhood again.

Remembering Potter.

Love, Rosie

article, emotional, feelings, life, movie, real-life, realtionships, short reads, story

At one point or another, we find ourselves looking at a dear friend of the opposite sex in a different light. It might be over time, it might be all at once, but either way it happens at least once to us all. When this happens we start feeling differently, we start acting differently; and moreover expressing your love to your best friend is the toughest task of all as you don’t want any loose end in it, you feel scared in expressing your love to him/her because you know if it goes the other way round you might end up ruining your friendship too; but you start giving indications of you liking her or her liking him but it’s all too rumpled up.

Love, Rosie is a film about that one time, and the 12 years that follow in the complicated, surprising, and sometimes upsetting life of a woman who let that friend get away.

But lets not talk about the movie here, let us talk about that one best friend you have whom you love, with whom you have shared everything, the one you know from your lifetime and the ones you know from just a year or two but it feels like a lifetime. Maybe the other person also loves you, maybe there’s that spark between you two but you both are just scared to share your feelings with each other and end up taking the wrong decisions like the ones taken by Rosie (Lily Collins) and Alex (Sam Claflin) in the movie.

You have known a friend from a very long time and your relationship is poised on the knife-edge of falling into something more romantic but then you miss the moment and everything starts slipping away; so you both try not to break your friendship and start indulging into other “relationships” which does you no wonder but serves you with ‘temporary’ happiness and missing your “real” half.
Years pass by, a lot has happened in your life, people come and go from your life but at every moment when you feel dark and dull you text that one person and you know that s/he will bring you out of that dark hole because your love for each other is deep and true but you both still think that your are just meant to be “best-friends” forever!

But when you both do realise that you are actually meant for each other, like what happens in the film after a long 12 years, that you are more than being just “bff’s”, you find a way to come back to each other after so much of love and heartbreak during the course.

“Rosie Dunne, Can I take you to the Dance?”, asks Alex.

“Better late than never.”, responds Rosie with tears rolling out on her cheeks.

So, never miss a chance to ask your best friend for a dance because it is always better late than never.

So here you are, lying down on the couch after a breakup and trying to explain your situation to your close and intimate ‘technology’ friend Siri or the upcoming ‘Cortana’ that you have just been dumped by your girlfriend/boyfriend; what do you think how would your ‘close’ friend react? Lets see…

“Siri, Shailene isn’t my girlfriend anymore,” I confided to my iPhone, between sobs.

“Do you want me to search the web for you about Shailene isn’t your girlfriend anymore?” Siri responded, in the sweet, feminine American robot dialect I’d selected in its “settings.”

And of course it than later asked me to tap either “Yes” or “No”. Which prompted some questions in my mind like Can technology really heal heart? Or Have we gone nuts because all we are trying to do is talk to our “so-called” intimate techno friends rather than our “real” friends or people who can actually comfort and can actually help healing our hearts and maybe even help finding us our new companions?Ā Ā (Well Siri can also give you suggestions for dating websites but like seriously do you want that? Think about it.)

Whenever you break up you start stalking your ex’s Facebook profile, instagram and all those post snapchats…like you are some serial killer plotting to kill your ex-partner as and when you get the opportunity.

Suppose one month after you both break up; you are kinda over it but still you have those flashes of memories of love and you are wandering over to Facebook and suddenly a notification pop – up reading like this, “You ex has ‘liked’ a picture of yours that you have posted yesterday”. Ugh. What did that mean? Does she want me back? Do we still stand a chance? I guess, she is still in love with me! And then suddenly you see a picture that she has posted with her “so-called” new boyfriend of some party they went to last night! BOOM! Back to reality. (Whisky is calling you!)

Well coming back, do you seriously think that talking to your phone would help you to heal the emotional pain you are going through?, the trauma that you are facing? Don’t you think that here a warm conversation with your friend will help you to come over that pain rather than updating Facebook statuses about your break up. A hug would make you feel more secure and warm rather than telling Siri to play a song that suits with your mood!

So, I guess technology is very important for us but when it comes to deal with a broken heart we should always call up our friend at 3 am in the night, wake her up and force her to listen to us and then after that tell Siri/Cortana to set an alarm for 7 in the morning.

Think about it and give your views about the topic in the comments below.

Should you judge a person by his/her face?

Yesterday, during my ‘free-time at work’ I was sitting with my new friends talking about relationships and stuff. So there was one girl who opened up about her relationship and showed us the pictures of her ‘true love’. As we were seeing the pictures, our sweet friend told us that she always wondered why everyone doubted her boyfriend’s character after having a glare at his picture. She wondered why everyone would just say that do not trust him, don’t indulge too much into this relationship, this relationship would destroy your life..that kind of stuff.
Now one girl, who was sitting with us also said (remembering her experience) that, “yes, he has that kind of a face; that when you give it a first look you don’t get good vibes!”
During this conversation, I was wondering that can one really judge a person by just looking at his/her face?
So I asked all of them that question. And to my surprise, most of them said yes that you can judge a person by just a picture. But I had some different views; to me you cannot just judge a person without talking to him/her. When you see a person’s photograph or someone new you meet, you make your own perceptions which play in your mind and you end up developing views about that person through your past experiences. Yes, physical appearance plays a very important role in starting a new conversation or breaking the ice but it does not mean that you can judge a person or make positive/negative views about it before knowing that person personally! To me it is more like that you yourself build perceptions and decide whether this is person is good or not and this way it plays as a barrier in your social development.
I also make perceptions by just looking at them but you have to aways give a shot to properly know that person and then come to a conclusion. This way, it helps you to be more positive and more interactive.
Well this little session ended with a laugh and she saying, “fuck you all, i love him with all my heart!”
So this was it and after crushing the coffee cups completely, during the chit-chat, we threw it into the dustbins and went back to our work.
